Open to any feedback, recommendations, etc. By Angus Stocking Articles - ApThe landscape architecture industry has been slow to adopt BIM, but one landscape architect believes that will soon change. My googling has returned little useful information on cross product workflows.Īnyone in the Arch world face this dilemma? We want to be respectful of our consultants workflows, but this is shift in platform we're seeing has become a time suck for our teams. Revit is being used increasingly by landscape architects to design and document projects with BIM deliverables. Landscape architecture is planting the seeds for a better built environment by adopting BIM to connect disciplines and level the field. I'm not certain about this Enscape based workflow, but my suspicion is that the teams are not comfortable in Lumion as they are Enscape. Download architectural files, Autocad samples, 2d and 3d models, 3ds max objects, Architectural design files, famous building plans and landscape design. According to my team member this wasn't as big an issue when LA teams were working in Enscape as we could leverage the Enscape data in a different manner. Often, our teams are tasked with taking the shared Lumion data from the LA team and manually coordinating it our models so that hardscapes, entourage placement, plannings, etc look consistent across documents. Landscape Architecture: Revit vs 3ds Max For a Sketchup alternative in making hardscape elements, which should a landscape architecture student use I am very handy with Photoshop and can make almost professional quality renders, but Sketchup ruins the realism. Landscape designers and landscape architects can use Autodesk software to create 2D drawings or 3D models that save time, cost and materials. I am unaware of a means of taking authored data in Lumion and bringing into Revit (or if I would want to do that). Landscape design software provides the tools and automation to create accurate layouts and models of landscapes. The LA teams love this as it creates rapid high quality renderings, but there's a disconnect between the authored data in Lumion and what Revit can "see". The Landscape architects they work with are increasingly working in Lumion to produce renderings. I had a project manager approach me with a unique challenge.
